There’s nothing worse than wanting to check your credit score, finding a “free credit score” site, and then having to put in your card details for a free trial. *insert facepalm*
Seriously though, if you’re like me, you’ll likely forget to cancel the subscription unless you immediately cancel the service once you get your score. I never thought about that one time – lesson learned there – and was charged that monthly fee and immediately got mad at my self.
Thankfully, there are many companies that heard the complaints of thousands of people and created free credit checks that didn’t involve putting your card information in.
Giving up an email address is way easier, am I right?
How to Find Free Credit Score Sites
This part is actually fairly easy and as simple as typing in that you’d like to find a free credit check site.
When you go to Mr. Google you can type in “free credit score check without a credit card” or something to that effect and it should spit out quite a few options for you!
Then you can go through and see which one is the best fit for you.
Be warned! Some will try to scam you into giving up your credit card information… but, you don’t need to do that! Just go back to the Google search and look for a new link to try out.
Credit Score Checking Sites You Can Try

Why Is It Good to Check Your Credit?
Well, it’s good for a few reasons.
- If you’re wanting to buy a house
- Or, maybe you’re paying off debt and looking to see how it improves your credit
- Maybe you need a loan but you first you have to bring up your credit score a bit
- Another reason is to make sure everything is accurate (make sure it all belongs to you and isn’t unknown)
Keeping tabs on your credit score can help you understand how you’re doing financially and with your money.
If your debt to credit ratio is too high then you’ll likely have a lower credit score and need to work on lowering your debt. Check out my post on paying off debt here.
